It is very hot in Bangkok all through the year. I have ever been there twice. The first visiting was in August 1992, the rainy season, and the second visiting was in December 1996, the dry season. Then I visited Bangkok for the second time, I saw the considerable change of this city. During from 1992 to 1996, Thailand was making progress in the national economy. A common saying, Thailand was one of the most improved nations in Southeast Asia.But the fascination of Bangkok is archaism, for example, Floating Market, great temples at the center of this city and the remains of the Ayuttaya Age.Buddhism is the essence of the spirit and the material of Thai, and it is their discipline, too.The sightseers can have an exiting experience during their short stay. They know that Thailand has the long and noble history based Buddhism.

バンコクは暑い。1992年８月（雨季）、1996年12月（乾季）と２回行ったのだが、どちらもかわらず暑かった。その間、東南アジアの先進国と言われるだけあって、街の様子は大きく変わってしまっていた。 しかし、バンコクの魅力といえば、水上マーケット、まちなかに聳える雄大な寺院、廃墟と化したアユタヤ王朝遺跡など、変わらないタイらしさにあると思う。それらの物心の中核にあり続け、変わらないエネルギーの源になっているもの、それはまちがいなく仏教だろう。われわれ観光客は、わずか数日滞在しただけで、仏教に彩られたこの国の重厚な歴史の何ページかを垣間見ることができる。
